Dream Hire: FC Baltimore adds strength to strength with the addition of Mike Lookingland. Mike Lookingland graduated from Loyola Blakefield in 2001. He attended Bucknell University, playing on the men’s soccer team from 2001 to 2004. He was a 2004 Third Team All American. In 2005, Real Salt Lake selected Lookingland in the second round of the MLS Supplemental Draft. He spent two seasons in Salt Lake. In 2007, he moved to the Harrisburg City of the USL and in 2008 he played for Crystal Palace Baltimore. In addition to his outdoor career, Lookingland had an extensive indoor career. In 2005, he signed with the Baltimore Blast, being named to the 2005–2006 All Rookie team and in 2012 named MISL Defender of the Year. Continuing to play indoor professionally through 2015 where he retired after playing for the Milwaukee Wave. Mike’s passion has been coaching and he started Dynasty Sports Academy in 2013 as he wanted to share his passion for the sport and get kids involved at the youngest ages. Also throughout the past 10 years he has coached for Celtic, Pipeline and currently with the Baltimore Armour Academy. Mike holds his United States Soccer Federation “A” license.

Christos FC General Manager Jody Haislip says, “Mike is a soccer junkie, there has not been a time in his life that there hasn’t been a soccer ball too far away from him.  As a youngster playing every day on the fields, as a teenager helping out as a referee in his spare time, then certainly through high school, college, and his professional career, Mike never lost his desire and love for the game.  Even as he was playing he created his Dynasty Academy and also started coaching at the Club and Academy level. He could never get enough soccer. We don’t believe he will ever give up playing the game either as he won an Over-30 National Championship with Christos FC.  Mike has plenty of experience as a coach and a player at top levels which will provide these young players a huge mentor to look up to. He is a great leader who leads with impeccable character and a strong work ethic. Mike’s roots are within Baltimore soccer and he will help provide this staff with all of his expertise and knowledge to build upon the success of last year’s team.”
