The inaugural roster goes from strength to strength. This latest batch of player signings features a former NSCAA Boys National High School Player of the Year. These players have excelled in elite NCAA programs as well as in Germany, Chile and all around the nation.
FC Baltimore Head Coach Brandon Quaranta has been hard at work since the open tryouts for the new club. The work has paid off. The Maryland Terrapins’ graduating senior George Campbell highlights the newest wave of signings for FCB. Campbell was formerly the NSCAA Boys National High School Player of the Year. He continued to have a stellar career at Maryland- including a hat trick against the Penn State Nittany Lions to earn Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors. He was recently invited to the Major League Soccer combine. Hopefully, a strong showing for FC Baltimore in 2018 will propel Campbell into the professional ranks.
Another local star, Kevin Coleman, is also set to feature for FC Baltimore in 2018. Coleman formerly played for the US Youth National Team from the U14 through the U17 age groups. He comes to FCB straight from the Junior Bundesliga- where he excelled for FC Kaiserslautern. After being an All-American and the Maryland High School Player of the Year, Coleman moved to Germany to pursue the opportunity. Coleman stated, “I am very excited to be a part of FC Baltimore! I can’t wait to get started and reunite with some the coaches and players!”
FC Baltimore also proudly adds Avionne Flanagan to the roster. Flanagan was a U16 United States National Team Camp participant. He has won a US Club National Championship. Currently, he plays out wide for the University of South Florida. Flanagan says, “It’s an honor to play for FC Baltimore alongside the best talent Baltimore has to offer. I’m excited to get out on the field and showcase my talent for these coaches and fans and to win lots of games.”
Not to be outdone, Sean Clarke adds to the long list of FC Baltimore players with National Championship backgrounds. He earned a National Title with his youth club team, along with All-State honors with his high school team. Twice, the Baltimore Sun named him a player to watch. Clarke currently plays for the University of Cincinnati. He states, “I cannot wait to be a part of FC Baltimore. There are so many talented players in this area, we are finally getting what we deserve.”
Collin Jouan joins FCB from the DC United Academy. His club side won three Maryland State Cups and three Region 1 championships. IMG named Jouan as a top 150 recruit in his graduating class. He featured for the Olympic Development Program Regional Team. Later, he went on to spend a year in Chile with Audax Italiano Under 20. Currently, Jouan plays for Loyola University Maryland.
Rounding out the new signings is another McDonogh Alum- Erumuse Momoh. Momoh currently showcases his talent at outside back for the University of Pennsylvania. Momoh states, “I’m really excited to have the opportunity to play for a great club and coaching staff. I know we’re going to go far this summer.” We couldn’t agree more!
